4 Popular Benefits of Lip Fillers

4 Popular Benefits of Lip Fillers

Lip fillers are all the craze. Celebrities use them regularly to enhance their looks, but you can too. With a visit to our office and a treatment that can be completed during your lunch break, you can completely revamp your look.

Unlike permanent lip procedures like lip implants or lip fat transfer, fillers have the advantage of being reversible. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be reversed right away with the help of a special enzyme.

With lip fillers, you have plenty to gain if you like the results and absolutely nothing to lose if you don’t, due to the noninvasive and temporary changes they bring.

Below, we asked Dr. Pompeyo Chavez, our expert at Soulage Wellness & Aesthetic Center, to outline a few more benefits of lip fillers.

1. Rejuvenates aging lips

Loss of collagen and the weakening of the muscle in the lips as a consequence of aging can leave the lips looking deflated. Lip fillers can restore the lost volume and create a natural, subtle rejuvenating effect.

2. Covers up a gummy smile

A gummy smile may look endearing for some, whereas it may be a source of distress for others. With the help of lip fillers, the upper lip can appear larger and cover some of the space occupied by gum tissue when you smile.

3. Fixes lip asymmetry

If one of your lips looks fuller than the other, or perhaps the positioning is off, lip fillers can bring balance to your overall facial features by fixing lip asymmetry.

4. Allows for gradual changes

If you have very thin lips and are unsure how lip fillers may look on your lips, you can opt for small, gradual changes with lip fillers in small dosages.

Additionally, remember that lip fillers aren’t permanent, and depending on the brand you get, they can be metabolized by the body within 12 months.

There’s no special preparation before the appointment for a lip filler. Dr. Chavez examines your lips and discusses the results you’d like to achieve.

During the treatment, Dr. Chavez delivers the filler via very thin needles, but the process is painless because he uses topical numbing creams to reduce your discomfort.

You’ll notice some changes to your lips immediately after the filler treatment. However, it takes about a week for the fillers to fully settle into your lips.

If you’re on the fence about lip fillers, contact us to schedule an appointment. We’ll let you know if you’re a good candidate and help you find out how they can change your look.
